looking ahead: 2022-2023 and beyond
With the ongoing guidance from our board, we have made three big-picture commitments for the coming school year to provide a strong foundation for our 25th year of service and beyond.
Enhance On-Going Student and Tutor Support As we continue to adapt to the changing environment in schools and work to address the issues exacerbated by the pandemic, Invest in Youth will remain committed to our goals of individualized programming for each student. We will use new educational software to diagnose academic gaps more accurately and provide unique lesson plans to address them. We also plan to more precisely track student progress, allowing us to better see our impact and benefit our students.
Expand Enrichment Programming We are already on the move to grow our enrichment programs for next year. With South Shore K-8 School’s enthusiastic support, we will add a second day of programming to provide alternative learning opportunities for students. In addition, we will offer one hour of enrichment classes to two of our other schools in the 2022-2023 school year. We will continue to build partnerships with local organizations that can bring in activities in subjects such as robotics, art, music and nutrition. These programs, drawn from local STEAM partners, allow students to learn and connect with key concepts in different ways. Students work individually, in small teams, or with their tutors to learn important life skills to better adapt to life’s challenges
Extend Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in All We Do In the 2022-2023 school year we will grow and extend our support base among our board, volunteers and donors. We believe that diverse teams bring with them unique perspectives and opinions that can help an organization grow. We also believe in the importance of student identities being reflected in their mentors. We intend to broaden our teams this year to include more diversity in ideas, lived experiences and viewpoints.
