Harriet Morton – Founder

Ms. Morton founded Invest in Youth in 1997 while a broker and investment advisor at Morton Clarke Fu & Metcalf. She is now a community volunteer with a B.A. in Chemistry and German and a teaching certificate from the University of Missouri. Ms. Morton also participates in the League of Women Voters, Washington Women’s Foundation and chairs the Development Committee for Invest in Youth.

Sara E. Hasan, CFA – Chairman

Ms. Hasan began tutoring for Invest in Youth in 2004. She is a Vice President in equity research at McAdams Wright Ragen and has a B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Sara is also a member of the CFA Society of Seattle and the North Beacon Hill Council. She previously served on the Advisory Board of YouthForce. She chairs the Recruitment Committee and serves on the Development Committee.

Mona Delgado – Secretary

Ms. Delgado began tutoring for Invest in Youth in 2000 and has now tutored at four of the Invest in Youth schools. She is the Regional Supervisory Manager for D.A. Davidson and has an M.S. in Speech Communications from South Illinois University – Carbondale. Ms. Delgado also serves on the Development Committee.

Kerry Oldenburg – Treasurer

Ms. Oldenburg’s began tutoring for Invest in Youth in 2008. She is the Director of Product Management for Prime Alliance Solutions, Inc. Ms Oldenburg earned an associates degree from Clark College, Certificate in Project Management, University of Washington and is a graduate of the MBA’s School of Mortgage Banking, Northwestern University, Her professional career spans 30 years in mortgage lending and technology solutions.

Coleen Anderson

Ms. Anderson began tutoring for Invest in Youth in 1998. She is currently retired and has degrees from Washington State University and the University of Washington. She was a licensed security professional at various stock brokerage firms from 1970 – 2007 and serves on the Governance Committee.

Kevin M. Clouse

Mr. Clouse began tutoring for Invest in Youth in 2000. He is a Certified Financial Planner Professional and Second Vice President in the Wealth Management division at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Mr. Clouse earned a B.S. in Business, Finance from the University of Idaho and serves on the Governance Committee.

Brock Loen

Mr. Loen is Portfolio Manager and Branch Manager for the D.A. Davidson Seattle office. Mr. Loen earned a B.S. from Oregon State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Washington and serves on the Recruitment Committee.

Casey McFarland

Mr. McFarland began tutoring for Invest in Youth in 2007. He currently is a Regional Director for Principal Funds and previously spent eleven years in various management and corporate capacities within Citi Smith Barney. Mr. McFarland earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Willamette University obtaining a double major in Economics and Spanish. He currently serves on the Program and Recruitment Committee.

Laura Orser

Ms. Orser began tutoring for Invest in Youth in 2003. She is a community volunteer and has a B.A. in French Literature from Skidmore College. In an earlier professional career, she was a paralegal specializing in Estate Planning and Probate for 24 years. Ms Orser recently joined the Rainier Scholars Board and also chairs the Finance Committee.

Tom Preston

Mr. Preston tutored for Invest in Youth for several years. He is the Director of Client Services and Human Resources at Brighton Jones LLC. Mr. Preston earned a B.A. in Economics from Fordham University and serves on the Communications and Strategic Development Committees.

Patty Rose

Ms. Rose works as a teacher librarian at John Rogers Elementary in the Seattle School District and has a passionate interest in helping children become readers and effective users of ideas and information. She has degrees in English and Education from Colorado College and Western Washington University. She is also involved in the Nature Conservancy and Skagitonians to Preserve Farmland.

Nick Slater

Nick began tutoring with Invest In Youth in 2004. He is a Portfolio Manager at McAdams Wright Ragen in Seattle. Nick currently chairs the Recruitment Committee.

Rebecca Sosinski

Mrs. Sosinski worked for Invest in Youth as a Program Director from 2007- 2011. She is a community volunteer and a mother. Mrs. Sosinski has a B.A. in English from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and a Masters in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University. During her three years studying in Illinois, she served as a volunteer teacher for Inner City Teaching Corps. As a corps member, Mrs. Sosinski taught kindergarten, first and second grade in Chicago. She currently chairs the Program Committee and acts as the creative consultant for Invest in Youth.

Josh Walker

Josh is a product development and project management consultant at SurgeryFlow, a software service provider that delivers patient evaluation and decision support services to outpatient surgical facilities. In 2010 he tutored at Daniel Bagley and he also coaches a little league team in Ballard. Josh joined the Board in 2011 and brings much needed technological expertise to the organization. He serves on the Communications committee.

Board Advisors

Jill T. Hearne, Ph.D.

Board Advisor. Dr. Hearne is a retired teacher, principal and central office administrator for Federal Way Public Schools, Seattle Public Schools and the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction for the State of Washington. She earned a Ph.D. from the University of Washington, serves on the Program Committee and has been an ongoing Board member for several years.

Directors Emeriti

Leonard Rosoff, Jr. M.D.

Dr. Rosoff began tutoring for Invest in Youth in 2006. He is a community volunteer and has a B.A. from Carleton College and a M.D. from the University of California School of Medicine. During his career as a physician, Dr. Rosoff practiced at The Mason Clinic specializing in hepatology. He is chairman of the Program Committee.

Nora Tabler

Ms. Tabler began tutoring for Invest in Youth in 2009. She is a community volunteer and has a B.A. from Gonzaga University and an M.P.A. from Seattle University. Her working career included being Executive Director for the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers and a fundraiser for the Seattle Aquarium. Other organizations she volunteers for are RSVP, City Club and Antioch University. Ms. Tabler chairs the Communications committee.
